Counter-Strike: Global Offensive COMING 2012


on august 12th 2011: the Valve Corporation aka Valve Software announced that they are currently developing; Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (Counter-Strike: GO or just cs: go), a continuation of the very popular first person shooter Counter-Strike.

Multiplayer and often times an extremely competitive fps, counter-strike and Counter-Strike: source are well known for garnering a huge following of  professional and amateurs gamers alike.

slated for realease in the early part of 2012 Counter-strike: Global Offensive (CS: GO) will be available on Windows pc, Steam on mac, Xbox 360, and the Playstation 3.

Counter-Strike: Global Offensive will have both updated updated maps (de_dust 2, cs_office etc) and new maps, character models, weapons, and gameplay modes, matchmaking, leader boards, and and probably more.

"Counter-Strike took the gaming industry by surprise when the unlikely MOD became the most played online PC action game in the world almost immediately after its release in August 1999," said Doug Lombardi, VP of Marketing at Valve.

"For the past 12 years, it has continued to be one of the most-played games in the world, headline competitive gaming tournaments and selling over 25 million units worldwide across the franchise. CS: GO promises to expand on CS' award-winning gameplay and deliver it to gamers on the PC as well as the next gen consoles and the Mac."

Counter-Strike: Global Offensive is being developed by Valve in conjunction with Hidden Path Entertainment. The game will be playable at PAX Prime this month and Eurogamer Expo 2011.
